India’s National Investigation Agency has taken over investigations of a case involving the arrest of a Sri Lankan female with a fake Indian passport, in Chennai.
Indian officers are also looking into four other males who have alleged links with the LTTE and possible funding.
The female suspect was arrested at the Chennai airport in October, last year.
According to the NIA, the case is related to creating several Indian passports by submitting forged documents and other Indian identity documents.
The suspects also used the fake documents to withdraw money from the Indian Overseas Bank.
The suspects are also charged with violating India’s Passport and Foreigners Amendment act.
