Parliamentarian Niroshan Perera claims the loan facilities provided by India will not help solve the economic crisis.

Speaking to NewsRadio the MP said the negative decisions reached by the government led to the present economic turmoil.

The MP said the opposition repeatedly called for economic restructuring, a stop to money printing, and government expenses to be curtailed.

MP Perera added discussions with the International Monetary Fund must continue while also holding talks with other loan providing nations in order to restructure terms and conditions of debt repayments.

He charged that these efforts were delayed for far too long with the public now having to suffer owing to the consequences of government shortcomings.
