Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has arrived in Sri Lanka on an official visit.
NewsRadio airport correspondent said General Naravane was accompanied by four other senior officers of the Indian Army.
The group arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport on-board a SriLankan Airlines flight from Chennai.
A group of high-ranking officers of the Sri Lanka Army were present at the BIA to welcome the group.
During his visit, Gen Naravane is expected to call on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Tomorrow, Gen Naravane will be honoured at the Army Headquarters in a “colourful Guard Turnout plus in an elegantly-dressed special Guard of Honour salute”.
On Thursday, he will witness the final demonstration of the ongoing bilateral Exercise ‘Mitra Shakti’ at Maduru Oya Special Forces Training School in the east.
