India says it will continue to stand with the people of Sri Lanka during difficult times.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India said the Indian government will support the Sri Lankans at this critical juncture as they seek to realize their aspirations for prosperity and progress through democratic means as well as established institutions and a constitutional framework.
The Indian External Affairs Ministry noted that it looks forward to an early solution of the situation related to the government and its leadership.
It added that India will support the people of Sri Lanka in all possible ways in their endeavor to find a way forward.
The External Affairs Ministry also noted that India has expeditiously finalized and delivered assistance as well as support worth about US$ 3.8 billion in the past few weeks.
It assured to continue to support Sri Lanka and is in solidarity with the people.
