The group of Parliamentarians who declared themselves independent of the government have decided to support the No-Confidence Motion by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya against the government.

Parliamentarian Mahinda Amaraweera speaking to media after a round of discussions in Colombo today said a common consensus was reached to support the SJB No-Confidence Motion.

The MP said they didn’t reach a decision pertaining to nominating an individual to the post of Prime Minister.

MP Amaraweera claimed they tabled a set of proposals pertaining to the formation of an all-party government which proposes the appointment of an executive council through which a Prime Minister, Cabinet of Ministers, and Secretaries of Ministries will be appointed.

MP Amaraweera also stated that all party leaders were present during today’s talks while Jayantha Samaraweera represented MP Wimal Weerawansa who was not able to attend the discussions.
