A discussion was held yesterday between a group of Parliamentarians who declared themselves independent of the government and the Ambassador of China in Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong.
Taking to Twitter the Chinese Embassy said the group of seven MPs included Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thera, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Udaya Gammanpila, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Weerasumana Weerasinghe, and Jagath Pushpakumara.
On 22nd April, 🇨🇳Ambassador Qi Zhenhong met with 7 MPs of independent group in 🇱🇰parliament. They exchanged opinions on current situation in Sri Lanka, China's assistance to the island and other topics of mutual interest.

The Embassy said the discussion focused on many topics including, Sri Lanka’s current situation and aid from China.
The MPs had requested for China’s continuous support to Sri Lanka.
