Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge says the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday discussed the importation of sufficient stocks of fuel to meet the demand.
Speaking to media last night after the Cabinet meeting the Minister said a continuous supply of fuel will be ensured.
The Minister said despite claims by Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila that fuel cannot be provided, they are allies and can therefore work out an arrangement.
Minister Lokuge also stated that Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana proposed to import 100MT of rice from China in order to make available to the public at lower rates.
