The Ministry of Trade has decided to sell imported rice at wholesale via supermarkets, owing to congestion reported at Sathosa outlets.
The Ministry said stocks of rice from India and Pakistan will be handed over to supermarkets during the next few days.
A kilogram of nadu rice will be sold at Rs.145 and a kilogram of samba rice at Rs.175.
