Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara charges that the International Monetary Fund is a cornerstone of policies of the United States.

Speaking to media yesterday, the MP said the IMF also contributed to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The MP said a system must be enforced to obtain fuel from Arab nations on a long-term basis or secure a method to obtain dollars.

MP Nanayakkara however said Sri Lanka is unable to secure dollars, and cannot continue to obtain more dollars owing to interest payments in future.

The MP questioned why fuel cannot be obtained from Russia after IMF support is confirmed, and questioned the contradiction in such a move.

The Parliamentarian said Ukraine was forced to work towards joining the Nato, due to pressure from the IMF.
