State Minister Shantha Bandara claims he did not take up the State Ministerial post of Agriculture out of greed or due to any other privileges.
Speaking during a media briefing, State Minister Bandara stated he will ensure there is no fraud or corruption in any sector under his purview.
The State Minister said he expressed his willingness to the Head of State to provide necessary support to keep the country stable as an independent Parliamentarian.
He claimed the public within the next few months will agree with his decision.
State Minister Bandara said no political party representing Parliament came forward to take on responsibility to develop the country when President Gotabaya Rajapaksa extended an invitation to take up Ministerial portfolios.
He said the Sri Lanka Freedom Party attempted to establish an interim government but to no avail.
State Minister Bandara claimed his conscious compelled him to reach a decision over whether he should stand on a side that destabilizes the country or a side that stabilizes the nation.
