The Hotel Workers Centre and the Inter Company Employees’ Union will engage in a protest opposite the Labour Department today based on several demands.
The demands include the provision of the Rs.5,000 allowance granted to state employees to be provided to employees in the tourism industry, the sum to be considered as part of salaries, and refraining from slashing jobs citing the coronavirus pandemic.
The protest is due to be held at 1:30pm.
