The Colombo High Court today ordered the Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer to assess Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka’s health condition and submit a detailed report.
The case pertaining to fabricating and concealing evidence in connection with an accident reported in Rajagiriya in 2016 was taken up for hearing today.
MP Ranawaka and three others have been named as defendants in the case.
However, MP Ranawaka failed to appear in Court today and had informed that he was receiving treatment at a private hospital for an illness.
Accordingly, Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte ordered the JMO to table a report in Court.
