Health sector workers have decided to resume trade union action on the 2nd of March.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Convener of the Health Trade Union Confederation Ravi Kumudesh said they granted 14-days for authorities to meet their demands.
Ravi Kumudesh noted after staging an indefinite strike, they reached certain agreements with the Minister of Health on the 15th of February.
He said after assurances were given by authorities, they suspended the strike for 14-days.
Kumudesh said although several days have lapsed since they reached the agreements, they are yet to receive a favourable response to their demands thus far.
He added on Monday they requested the Minister to provide an update on the measures taken to meet their demands, but to no avail.
Kumudesh said they expected the President to directly intervene in three issues that are pending.
Ravi Kumudesh said the timeframe granted for authorities to resolve their issues ends on the 1st of March and therefore they have no other alternative but to resume the trade union action on the 2nd of next month.
