The Academy of Health Professionals says concerns in the health service must be resolved before it intensifies, citing this as the most pressing issue at present.
The Academy said the public is facing a major crisis due to the Secretary of the Ministry of Health failing to pay due attention to various concerns in the health service.
President Ravi Kumudesh said concerns within the health sector trump the shortage of gas, power, fuel, and essential items adding that similar excuses to the shortages cannot be given regarding the health sector.
Kumudesh said the Ministry of Health and the Secretary have failed to respond to issues in the health industry adding the Ministry has become an empty vessel.
He called on authorities to be responsible and ensure the safety of citizens.
