Health Professionals question use of health sector aid

The Federation for Health Professionals state the public is currently questioning whether allocations made for the health service through foreign loans and aid are being utilised accordingly.

The Federation for Health Professionals state the public is currently questioning whether allocations made for the health service through foreign loans and aid are being utilised accordingly.

Addressing a media briefing in Colombo, Convenor of the Federation Ravi Kumudesh said certain health authorities continue to act inefficiently.

He said if the health system continues to remain inefficient, the debt, and medicine crisis will not be resolved.

He expressed his regret over the ignorance of the Ministry of Health adding the Ministry continues to incur unnecessary expenses on drugs and equipment.

Kumudesh noted due to technical inefficiencies and corruption within the Ministry, the health system incurs expenses that can easily be avoided.
