State Minister Dilum Amunugama says passengers and bus owners have forgotten the health guidelines issued for public transport services.
Speaking to media in Kandy, State Minister Amunugama said a restriction was imposed that passengers should only be allowed up to seat capacity on public transport and it was strictly enforced.
He added however by yesterday all factions had gradually forgotten the restriction.
State Minister Amunugama said therefore directives were issued to remind the public in this regard, and look into whether the regulation was being followed.
The State Minister claimed parties and wedding are also being organized in an unsafe manner adding however that they must be held as well.
He therefore urged the public to be cautious in this regard.
State Minister Amunugama said rules and regulations will continue to be enforced stringently.
