Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla today called on Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa.
The two parties discussed India-Sri Lanka economic and commercial ties.
The Indian Secretary and Minister Rajapaksa also discussed post-pandemic economic recovery by taking forward joint projects of mutual benefit.
Furthermore, the Foreign Secretary called on Foreign Minister Prof. GL Peiris where discussions were held on bilateral ties in all spheres.
Discussions also focused on the early conclusion of project proposals and enhancing connectivity that will contribute to accelerating Sri Lanka’s economic recovery.
Meanwhile, the Indian Foreign Secretary jointly inaugurated four projects in the housing and education sectors with the Foreign Minister.
Several Cabinet Ministers and government Parliamentarians were also present at the occasion.
The projects, completed with Indian assistance, exemplify India’s strong and multifaceted development cooperation profile in Sri Lanka.
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla also held a delegation level meeting with Foreign Secretary Admiral (Retd) Prof. Jayanath Colombage today.
The two parties reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
