The Joint Development Officers’ Centre charges that the government has failed to provide a favourable solution to employment issues faced by graduate development and trainee officers.
Speaking at a media briefing, representative of the Centre Sithum Sampath said more than 53,000 individuals who were recruited in September last year and completed the training, have not been made permanent yet.
Sampath said the government has no plan in place to fulfil this programme.
He claimed the group that was recruited in 2019, that included 14,000 persons, were only issued permanent appointments after close to two years.
He charged that the 2020 recruits are without a salary or transfer plan and demanded that they be made permanent.
