The Samagi Jana Balawegaya claims the present administration and its allies are stealing nearly Rs.30,000 monthly from a family.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil Amarasena said 6.9 million individuals campaigned and voted for the government hoping for a change, which led to the government receiving a two thirds majority in Parliament which in turn paved way for the 20th Amendment to the Constitution to be passed.
MP Amarasena claimed the government continues to burden the public by increasing the price of milk powder and embezzling funds through the disappearance of files from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority database.
Commenting on incidents involving various Ministers of the government, MP Amarasena challenged these Ministers to express their opposition in the forthcoming Budget if they in fact have opposing opinions against the present administration.
The Parliamentarian said recent incidents are media spectacles adding Ministers Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara must resign from their portfolios and commence their struggle against the government.
He said they made similar claims when passing the 20th Amendment, and they claimed they will never allow dual citizens to enter Parliament.
MP Amarasena said not only did a dual citizen enter Parliament but he was appointed as the Minister of Finance.
The Parliamentarian said 55-60 per cent of the total funds in the forthcoming Budget have been allocated to Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
