An emergency discussion of stakeholder parties of the government was held last evening.
The discussion was held at the headquarters of the Sri Lanka Communist Party.
Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Vasudeva Nanayakkara, State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera and Parliamentarian Venerable Athuraliye Rathana thera were part of the talks.
Speaking to media after the meeting, they claimed the discussion was focused on decisions by the government pertaining to an agreement of the Kerawalapitiya LNG Power Plant with an American firm.
Minister Weerawansa said the matter will be discussed with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa upon his arrival in the country from the United States.
Minister Weerawansa said discussions will also be held with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaks and leaders of other political parties.
He claimed despite claims of an agreement over the Power Plant, the matter must not be looked at negatively.
Meanwhile, Minister Nanayakkara responded to queries if the group will seek to withdraw from the government. Minister Nanayakkara added that while there are differences of opinions, a common stance will be reached.
The Minister claimed they will seek to express their views with both the President and the Prime Minister.
