Minister Johnston Fernando says it is the responsibility of the government to maintain development amidst the coronavirus and economic crisis.
Speaking to media after an event in Kandy today, the Minister said the economic crisis is linked to the lack of dollar reserves.
Minister Fernando said budgetary allocations have been made for development adding that ensuring allocations are utilised is the responsibility of the Ministries.
The Minister said the country cannot remain stagnant citing COVID-19 claiming that progression in development and facing challenges is inevitable.
He noted that the pledges by the President are currently being fulfilled.
