The JVP says the government is planning to suppress the people’s struggle on the 9th of July.
Leader of the JVP Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake speaking to media in Colombo said people’s opinions cannot be suppressed by violent actions.
He noted the government is taking various steps to prevent the planned protests on the 9th of July.
The MP said the government is taking steps to shut down public transport to discourage the public from taking part in the people’s struggle.
He added steps are being to taken to violently suppress the people’s struggle as well.
The MP said the government is unable to face the people and instead remains hidden from the public eye.
MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake requested the public to refrain from engaging in violent acts when engaged in protests on the 9th of July, as such acts are what the government expects.
