Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahuman says government leaders have supported the change of gas composition.
Speaking during a media briefing today, MP Rahuman said authorities are hesitant to take necessary legal action against those involved as a result.
The Parliamentarian said Litro Gas claimed it will resolve issues and supply gas by mid-January adding however not a single cylinder was released to the market on the 14th of January after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s inspection tour of the Litro Gas storage terminal on the 13th of January.
He added only a handful of cylinders were released on the 15th.
The MP said the country does not have sufficient gas and dollar reserves to import gas.
He questioned the government’s objective under such circumstances by further burdening the public.
MP Rahuman further questioned why the President cannot comprehend the present situation.
