Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the government that came into power promising prosperity has put the country up for auction.

MP Premadasa questioned how a government that cannot provide safe gas cylinders, governs the country.

MP Premadasa speaking in Lunugamvehera today said youth are facing an employment crisis while the public has lost livelihoods and sources of income.

MP Premadasa said prices of items have skyrocketed leading low-income earners to be further burdened while others have lost their wealth.

He said the public is facing a dire situation, terming it the biggest disaster of recent times.

The Opposition Leader however said the situation was a result of a mistake caused by the public due to being misled.

The MP Premadasa said the present administration has created a failing nation with no prospects, or future.
