The Samagi Jana Balawegaya claims the government does not have a finalised plan to control the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to media at the Office of the Opposition leader, Parliamentarian Hector Appuhamy said it was clear that the government had no policy or plan to move away from the pandemic as they called for crematoriums to not charge fees instead of focusing on more important issues.

He stressed utmost priority should be given to solving shortages of ICU beds and medical equipment within hospitals, instead of focusing on other areas.

The MP said people do not have access to provide meals to family and friends who have been infected with the virus.

He also accused health authorities of publishing false statistics claiming the Health Ministry claimed cases have risen by 30%, by only testing 2% of the population.
