The United National Party claims the government has lost control of all sectors of the country.

Speaking to media in Colombo the Assistant Leader of the UNP, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said the public is facing many issues at present.

Kariyawasam said all price controls issued by the government failed adding the decision making authority on prices ended with other groups.

The former Minister said none of the policies implemented by the government have been fruitful.

He said the present administration failed to heed to the advice of economic experts adding the decision to float the rupee was too late.

He said the value of the dollar increased rapidly as a result.

Kariyawasam said a government and its Ministers must work according to a plan adding he was successful in carrying out his duties as the Minister of Education in the past by working according to a plan and thereby minimising issues.
