The Power of Working People Association claims the government instead of controlling the coronavirus pandemic is using it to further its political interests.

Issuing a statement, the Association said although the government has acknowledged the struggle of teacher and principal unions pertaining to salary issues, it has failed to provide a solution thus far.

The Power of Working People Association said it is unacceptable that the government is attributing the delay or the inability to provide solutions to issues to the coronavirus crisis.

It added due to the failure to provide a solution to teacher and principal union demands, the country has been facing a number of unnecessary demonstrations.

The Association said some factions are attempting to conceal errors of judgment made pertaining to coronavirus mitigation efforts by blaming teacher and principal unions and other bodies for staging demonstrations to win their demands.
