State Minister Susil Premajayantha says he is focused on reforming the current education system to meet the present-day demands.
Speaking in Parliament, the State Minister said he expects the support of all parties to introduce education reforms.
He said from the 6th of December a programme will be held to educate and obtain views of MPs on education reforms.
State Minister Susil Premajayantha said they have also obtained views of the public, and evaluated the recommendations adding the final draft will be compiled by the National Education Commission.
He said he is hoping to introduce the national education policy as an Act of Parliament with the support of all political parties.
State Minister Susil Premajayantha noted the reforms should be in place for a lengthy period of time in order for it to be a success.
He said the education policy should be consistent for at least 10 years which will have a positive impact on the entire country and on future generations.
