Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunatilleka says the government has failed to reveal the reasons behind the numerous issues the country is faced with.
Speaking at a media briefing, the MP charged that the government is yet to reveal the individual who issued the directive to amend the composition in gas cylinders.
MP Karunatilleka said the price of a gas cylinder was increased by 84 percent adding that gas leak explosions are also still being reported.
He added that the fertiliser issue is yet to be addressed and charged that amidst a dollar crisis, USD 6.2 billion is being paid as compensation for fertilsier imported from China on the government’s shortcomings.
MP Karunatilleka also claimed that the public has also had to stand in queues for the 10kg of rice that is made available through Sathosa at concessionary rates during the festive period.
