Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the present administration has completely disregarded its patriotic and people-friendly promises and policies during their election campaign.
MP Premadasa said the government has taken arbitrary decisions through attempts to vest the Kerawalapitiya Power Plant and other assets with foreign firms.
He said although the Kerawalapitiya Power Plant is to be fully owned by the Ceylon Electricity Board by the year 2035, plans are being made to bring it under a foreign company.
The Opposition Leader said the project to supply gas has also been handed over to the same firm.
The statement issued by MP Premadasa said, vesting control of a core state asset to a foreign firm would endanger the country’s energy sector.
