Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the government engaged in complete deceit by claiming that former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake will be pardoned on Independence Day, Vesak, and Poson Poya.
MP Premadasa said Ramanayake claimed that he will continue to work with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and to share this message with the public.
Speaking to media after visiting former MP Ramanayake at the Welikada Prison yesterday, MP Premadasa also charged that the government lacks a concrete plan to uplift the country.
MP Premadasa said the final fuel shipment as part of the Indian credit line has arrived in the island and questioned what the future plan of the government is.
He noted that the fuel crisis has worsened, and charged that certain individuals’ part of the government stated that fuel lines will be brought to an end within 24-hours.
Premadasa said daily, various reasons are put forth for the lack of action to the country’s issues and called on the government to face reality.
He also charged that weekly various excuses are being put forth for the government’s shortcomings claiming that the public wants action not excuses.
