Representatives of Sri Lanka’s Catholic Church say the government is delaying investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
Bishop of Kurunegala Rt. Rev. Kithsiri Fernando speaking at a media briefing yesterday expressed his disappointment in the slowpaced nature of investigations into the bombings.
Rev. Fernando said they are dissatisfied with the progress of investigations, adding that the government’s hesitancy in conducting investigations cannot be understood.
He claimed the government has stated that investigations are underway, yet are not speaking of the masterminds of the attacks.
Rev. Fernando claimed the truth cannot be concealed adding that the innocent lives that were claimed in the attacks must be served justice.
