The opposition claims appointing Venerable Galagodaththe Gnanasara thera as the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on One Country, One Law, may lead to more rift amongst communities.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo Parliamentarian Mano Ganesan said the manner in which members were appointed to the Task Force was unjust.
MP Mano Ganesan therefore claimed the opposition has no faith in the Task Force.
The MP noted the opposition is also agrees to the one law, one country concept, adding however past actions of Gnanasara thera have been controversial. He added Gnanasara thera has made his stance known to the country.
MP Ganesan said therefore appointing such an individual as the Chairman of the Task Force, will lead to unrest among communities.
The MP claimed Gnanasara thera also received a Presidential pardon, and questioned how such an individual can implement the one law, one country concept.
