The Government Medical Officers’ Association says they will begin a protest campaign calling for the government to listen to the people’s demands.
Issuing a statement today, the GMOA said all politicians must listen to the people’s voice, and work towards building a nation that abides by policies.
The decision to protest was taken by GMOA interim-working committee members who met for talks yesterday.
The Group were of the opinion that the governments weak economic and financial management coupled with violation of policies in governance has led to the country falling into a political, social and economic crisis.
The Government Medical Officers’ Association stresses that the suppressive government must bow down to the opinion of the public and religious leaders.
The Association stressed on the importance of conducting a stringent and impartial investigation on Police opening fire at protestors in Rambukkana, in order to punish perpetrators, so that an era of violence will not be created once again.
