The Government Medical Officers Association has requested the government to begin a medical tourism field in Sri Lanka.
GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya speaking at a programme in Colombo yesterday said a report in this regard has been handed to the government.
Dr. Padeniya said administration requests for the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine under the Ministry of Higher Education to enforce this programme have been made.
He added this will also help support the country’s tourism industry and will also contribute to the economy.
