Co-Cabinet Spokesman Minister Ramesh Pathirana says Foreign Minister GL Peiris will announce the stance of the government regarding allegations leveled against Sri Lanka by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Speaking during the weekly Cabinet media briefing in Colombo, Minister Pathirana said during today’s address to the UNHRC session, Minister Peiris will issue clarifications on the matters raised.

When questioned by media over the purported militarization of civil bodies in the country which was highlighted by the UN Human Rights Commissioner, Minister Ramesh Pathirana said a detailed response will be given later today on behalf of the government.
