Operators have once again urged the government to give priority to private buses when releasing diesel.
The All Island Private Bus Owners Federation said priority must be given if buses are to operate during the upcoming festival season.
Speaking to NewsRadio, the Chief Secretary of the Federation Anjana Priyanjith said a large number of bus operators are in diesel queues at present.
Priyanjith said only 15 percent of buses are in operation today.
The Chief Secretary of the Federation said relevant authorities and the government must accept responsibility for any inconveniences caused to the public.
Priyanjith conveyed his regret over a procedure to provide diesel for private buses not being formulated thus far.
