Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunatileka says the country is gradually moving into an era of long queues.
Speaking to media in Galle yesterday, the MP pointed out that the government may introduce a coupon system to purchase fuel and essential commodities in future.
MP Karunatileka said the Oil prices increased in line with global prices, but with the government introduced a new fuel price formula; where the price continues to increase despite a global market decline.
He accused the government of imposing unfair price increases, at a time when the price of a barrel of crude oil has decreased by 15 dollars.
The Parliamentarian commented that the government is saying they have no answers to the problems of people are who are already burdened with hardships.
MP Karunatileka predicted that the government is showing signs of imminent bankruptcy through the proposal to implement a coupon system.
