State Minister Janaka Wakkumbura says the prevailing gas related issue will be resolved within the next two to three weeks.
Speaking to media in Embilipitiya State Minister Janaka Wakkumubura said State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna intervened to resolve the matter adding that gas will only be imported after conducting a quality assurance test.
He added it was observed that several concerns arose pertaining to gas cylinders that were issued labels.
State Minister Wakkumbura noted the government has intervened to resolve the matter adding however there are only two gas companies in the country.
The State Minister said the President appointed an expert committee to look into the matter, adding steps will be taken based on the recommendations of the committee.
He stressed the government is taking steps to ease the people’s fear over using gas cookers.
