The Ceylon Teachers Service Union says the future course of action in the struggle to address teacher-principal salary anomalies will be announced this afternoon.
Speaking to media, Union Chief Secretary Mahinda Jayasinghe said the next steps will be announced after a discussion with representatives of teacher and principal unions today.
Jayasinghe said the proposal of the Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to address salary anomalies is unacceptable.
The Chief Secretary said today marks the 45th day of their struggle.
He said they received details of the Sub-Committee report that was tabled to the Minister of Finance, adding its content was discussed at length yesterday.
Jayasinghe said today’s discussion will determine if the unions will disregard proposals of the Sub-Committee.
