The Federation of University Teachers Association says the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister is a temporary solution to the current crisis.
Chairman Dr. Shyama Banneheka addressing a media briefing in Kandy said the public expects a complete system change.
The Professor said his coalition continuously called on the government to provide solutions to the present economic crisis.
However, Dr. Shyama Banneheka said the President has given a temporary fix to the country’s problems, which the FUTA believe will not work in the long term.
He explained that the current government has brought back an individual who was rejected by the people at the election and appointed him as the Prime Minister.
Secondly the FUTA Chairman said the public expects a complete system change.
