Parliamentarian Goonetileke Rajapaksa says the fuel crisis will severely affect Members of Parliament as well.
Speaking to media in Kandy, the MP said in future fuel quotas should be distributed fairly to represent all sectors.
He said despite them being MPs, they have no means of obtaining fuel for themselves as the matter affects all walks of life.
MP Rajapaksa said an year ago he pumped a full tank of fuel for Rs.7,500 while today Rs.30,000 is required in order to obtain a full tank of fuel.
The MP therefore stated that he has resorted to travelling to Colombo from Kandy via train, adding that he attended Parliament sessions last week by train and will continue to do so next week as well.
MP Rajapaksa accordingly requested that fuel be provided equally to all sectors.
