The National Election Commission says forms for the 2021 voter register will not be distributed door to door due to the prevailing coronavirus situation.
Issuing a statement, the Commission said if an individual is registered in the 2020 voter register, they will be registered under the same address for the year 2021 adding the public will not be required to fill new forms.
The voter register for the year 2020 was due to be displayed at all Grama Niladhari offices.
However, due to the imposition of quarantine curfew the display of the voter registers was postponed indefinitely.
The Election Commission said registrations for the 2021 register can be completed through the website of the Commission.
The Elections Commission added that an individual whose name has not been recommended must inform the relevant Grama Niladhari officer immediately.
