Minister of Foreign Affairs GL Peiris is due to address the 50th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland today.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issuing a statement said Minister Peiris’ address will be delivered in line with Sri Lanka’s continued engagement with the Human Rights Council.
The 50th session of the Human Rights Council is being held from the 13th of June to the 8th of July.
The United Nations Human Rights Council will discuss topics such as forced labour in Xinjiang, China, Ukraine and others.
The session will start with the annual report of the High Commissioner for Human rights, Michelle Bachelet.
