Four of the five suspects arrested in connection with the shooting and murder of an individual in the Morakatiara, Tangalle have been remanded till the 6th of July.
Police obtained detention orders for the chief suspect until the 4th.
The order was issued by the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court today.
Unidentified gunmen on a motorbike opened fire at a cab that three persons were travelling in on the 5th of June.
One individual died while two others sustained critical injuries.
Following investigations carried out by the Tangalle Police, five suspects including the 51 year old shooter, who is a resident of Kadawatha, were arrested.
Three cars and a motorbike involved in the incident were seized.
A hand grenade was also found in the residence of one of the suspects.
