Parliamentarian Hesha Withanage says individuals are trying to cover the country’s problem, through distractions.
Speaking during day three of the adjournment debate on the government’s policy statement in Parliament today MP Withanage commented that certain groups are portraying the IMF to be an organisation that must be avoided at all times, but fail to present their reasons.
The MP said such politicians were only saying it would be detrimental to the people, but fail to mention how.
Parliamentarian Hesha Withanage said the ‘Viyath Maga’ initiative has also failed to achieve its desired objectives.
He hoped MP Charitha Herath would be given his seat in the Committee on Public Enterprise, and be given a chance to question the governments inefficient practices.
