Minister SM Chandrasena claims the country’s issues will further aggravate by exposing shortcomings and issues within the government to external parties.
Speaking during a media briefing this morning, Minister Chandrasena said the recent statements by the former Minister of Energy regarding fuel reserves have also contributed to queues forming at filling stations.
The Minister said there were many concerns during the conflict adding they were not revealed to external parties.
He added the government eradicated terrorism by taking necessary steps.
Minister Chandrasena said MP Udaya Gammanpila as the former subject Minister should have discussed the matter with relevant authorities including the President and the Minister of Finance and sought solutions instead of going before media and publicly citing a shortage of fuel.
The Minister claimed MP Gammanpila should have had better discipline in managing the fuel situation.
Commenting on the conflict of opinions between the Minister of Finance and the former Energy Minister, Minister Chandrasena claimed there are many individuals with dual citizenship in Parliament and in society.
He said holding dual citizenship does not affect the governance of a country.
