The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has requested the acting President and the security forces to ensure law and order in the country, and extended the party’s support in bringing normalcy to the country.

The SLPP issuing a statement said the actions of mobs must be considered very strictly.

The party stated that no one is above the law adding that the people’s right to life cannot be hindered under any circumstance.

The SLPP stated that violence was unleashed on the country on several occasions creating fear.

They claimed that a Member of Parliament was killed, several properties destroyed, and individuals injured in the past adding that such incidents are currently repeating itself.

Therefore, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna said the safety of the public and the right to life must be secured.
