President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says the outcome of the education reform process should be to produce a citizen who is productive and contributes positively towards economic growth.
The President made this observation during talks at the President’s House this morning which focused on a number of important issues to be addressed within the field of education.
The National Education Policy has been drafted in order to meet the major needs of Sri Lankan students which have been prevalent for a considerable time period.
Officials of the National Education Commission said the policy will be presented in the next few weeks.
Special attention has been given to identify the syllabus content covered for students facing the GCE Ordinary Level Exam being worked off at present, in addition to the upcoming Advanced Level Exam and the Grade Five Scholarship exam.
