Minister Bandula Gunawardana says the current Cabinet of Ministers is working tirelessly to address the country’s financial crisis.
Speaking during the weekly Cabinet media briefing in Colombo this morning, Minister Gunawardana said despite various assertions, Cabinet Ministers have been discussing ways to resolve the fuel, gas and food shortages.
The Minister said the country is facing an unprecedented financial crisis and therefore a collective programme is required.
Minister Gunawardana said at no juncture in the history of the country has an announcement had been made that Sri Lanka cannot honour its foreign debts.
He said since the situation is dire, a new government was formed and now they are working to address the issues around the clock.
The Minister said the opposition is however focused on achieving political mileage at the expense of the people’s suffering.
